Spokane Firefighter Death – Cody Traber was a 18-year veteran of Spokane County Fire District 9.
A fireman with Spokane County Fire District 9 (SCFD) died while battling a wildfire on Thursday.
Lt. Cody Traber died while reacting to reports of a wildfire Thursday night at 395 and Wandermere. He was checking for indications of the fire when he tumbled off the Wandermere Bridge.
In a Facebook post from SCFD, Fire Chief Jack Cates said Cody Traber was a 18-year veteran of District 9 and recently served at Stevens County Fire District 1, Cheney Fire Department and the Department of Natural Resources Arcadia District.
The episode happened at around 10 p.m. on Thursday.
Traber leaves behind his better half, Allisyn and four small kids. Cates likewise said they will give more data when it opens up.
Spokane Valley Fire Chief Bryan Collins tweeted about the deficiency of Traber.
Spokane Valley Fire Department said on Facebook they are holding the firemen, loved ones of District 9 near their souls.
