Shanice Young, 31, a mother only weeks from conceiving an offspring, was shot in the head before her structure on West 128th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard. Her family assembled in a similar spot to lament.

Soon after 1 a.m. Sunday, Shanice was getting back from her child shower. She was bringing the gifts into her structure entryway when police say a battle broke out between the two men.

One of the men had a firearm that shot, and a slug hit Shanice in the head.
