Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a first-person shooter released in 2007 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows. It was developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. Instead of using WW II as a setting like its previous entries, this game was set in Modern times.
The game started in 2011 when the president of an unknown country in the Middle East was executed, and Russia was in a Civil War. Players can play as an elite British S.A.S Commando or U.S Marine Force Recon. The story revolves around Russian stolen nuke and Rebellion of Middle Eastern terrorists. Multiplayer in COD4 features various modes and has a leveling system. Players will unlock new weapons and weapon attachments as they level up.
This was the fourth title in the Call of Duty series. Its story continues in two sequels: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. In 2017, a remastered version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was launched as a standalone game. Critics around the globe gave positive reviews about the game story and gameplay. COD4 won multiple gaming awards and was the top-selling worldwide game for 2007.
Campaign
The campaign allows players to control British S.A.S and U.S Marine characters. Each character you use to finish an objective is a part of the plot and overlaps the events in the game. The Player’s perspective will continue to change between missions. A heads-up on the screen will lead you to your objective. These objectives will lead you to different checkpoints, including; eliminating all enemies in the area, defending the site, or planting explosive charges in the enemy area. The campaign is short and can be completed in 6 hours on normal difficulty.
Multiplayer
Multiplayer mode in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare includes
Multiplayer team-based and Deathmatch modes on various maps. Players can call in UAV scans, airstrikes, and attack helicopters when they achieve three-, five-, and seven-enemy kill streaks, respectively. There are specific numbers of kills predefined to win, and if the time is up, the team with the highest score will win.
Instead of roles, there is a class system in the online version of the game. Your class determines your loadout. You can also edit your class loadout and choose your favorite weapons. As you level up, new weapons, scopes, and perks will be added to your infantry.
